With September completed, we now have our routines well underway and ready to move full steam ahead with this school year. Of course, academic achievement is very important but it is just as important for all of us to keep in mind the major disruption our students, families, and staff encountered and may still be experiencing in our lives during this pandemic. For this reason, we are emphasizing the need to take a balanced approach to emphasize academic learning with social and emotional learning and health.
We always stress JUST GIVE OUR BEST in everything we do and as is stated in our newsletter heading banner. This banner is also hung up in our front hallway for a daily reminder.
This means giving our best with our learning, behavior, and relationships and just trying our best is expected each day. Trying hard, being kind, and helping others will make the difference in having a successful and enjoyable school year.
If or when a challenge or concern arises this year, I ask that you reach out to your child's teacher or counselor to discuss it so that a solution can be collaboratively worked out as I am a true believer that many of the challenges we encounter can be successfully worked out if we work together.
Thank you for your support from home.

Lloyd Road's Halloween Parade will take place on Friday, October 29, starting at 1:40 p.m. Information is as follows:
Where: Students will exit out of the side doors into the Lloyd Road side parking lot closest to Lloyd Road, turn right, walk on the front driveway toward the playground, wrap around the playground parking lot, and walk back down the main driveway to re-enter the same side doors. It is not a very long parade but still enjoyable for the students. It usually lasts only about 15 minutes but it is a fun time for the students and any family members who want to watch.
Class snacks: Appropriate snacks/treats for classrooms will be communicated by your child’s teacher since each class’ needs may be different based on allergies or not.
Costume reminder for students that choose to participate in the parade and dress up in a costume: We do allow students to wear their costumes to school. If a costume is worn to school it has to be comfortable and one that the child can still learn in and not distract themselves or others. If a costume is brought to school to be changed into, please make it easy for your child to change into it. Costumes should also not be violent in nature, revealing, or include weapons. Students who have masks as part of their costume can wear it during the parade.
