    7 Mindsets-Passion First!

Passion First tells us that we are all unique and that our lives should be focused on finding our unique genius and sharing it with the world. Everyone has things he or she does well. When you do what you’re good at, you perform better and get better results, which benefit both you and those around you. Playing to your strengths is critical, so that you spend your time doing what you’re best at and create the most value. It’s also important to recognize that your strengths are much more than things you do well (i.e. math, sports, music); they also include situations in which you thrive, and people with whom you are at your best. You must understand all of these strengths to enhance your life.

    Spirit Night at Buffalo's

SPIRIT NIGHT is Thursday 1/29 from 4-9 pm at Buffalo’s. It is going to be so much fun with a kids' coloring contest, I spy game, and a special Mashburn menu - so mark your calendar to join the fun!

    Please Help These 5th Graders!!!

Do you see these sweet faces? Megan Reynolds and Camryn Coen are going to state competition with their social studies project that analyzes adults' knowledge of common historical and geographical information. They need to significantly increase the volume of data collected for this competition. You can help by completing their anonymous survey. It has 20 questions and must be completed to the best of your knowledge without the use of technology or other tools (just your brain!) They particularly need responses from the 18-29 age group. The survey link is found below, but you will also need this map to complete the last 10 questions. PLEASE help these girls reach their goals. Thank you to everyone who has already completed the survey and supported our girls!

    Blessings in a Backpack

We are collecting canned soups for families in need whose children receive food each week in a backpack through the Blessings in a Backpack Program. This program was started and is managed by students at Lambert High School who wanted to make a difference in the lives of younger students in Forsyth County Schools. Thank you for your support of this valuable program!

    Changes to School Breakfast Choices

To help us meet required sodium targets, nonfat chocolate milk will no longer be offered as a breakfast milk choice. We will continue to offer the other Mayfield milk choices: skim, 1% low-fat, as well as nonfat, low sugar strawberry and vanilla flavored milks. Students will be able to enjoy their favorite nonfat chocolate milk at lunch because the sodium limits set for lunch are higher than for breakfast. Additional changes to the breakfast menus and a pilot-testing of healthy yogurt & fruit smoothies will be coming in the spring menus. Remember that eating breakfast at school is a convenient and a healthy way to start the learning day.

Mashburn Robotics Team to Compete at State Tournament

Mashburn Robotics Team "The Beasts" recently competed at the First Lego League Super Regional Competition in Gwinnett County. The team placed 8th in overall robot missions and received an award for Best Presentation for their research project. The team will now travel to compete in the state tournament at the University of Georgia on February 7. Congratulations Beasts!
