Q Commons Sacramento: The Power of We

Q founder Gabe Lyons spoke recently at the Thrive Apologetics conference at Bayside Church. He took time with the thousands gathered there to talk about the vision for Q Commons as a place for leaders in cities across America to gather to hear about and discuss the challenging realities of pursuing the common good with gospel motives and real impact. We are grateful that he lifted up Q Commons Sacramento as a great place for people in this region to have that experience. The theme of "The Power of We" will be on display through our local speakers (featured below), a local panel, and through all of those who gather. We hope that will include YOU and those you know. Space is limited this year in our venue!

Q Local Panel: Service Leaders Donna Trumbo, Brad Squires and Christina Espinosa

Donna Trumbo's greatest passion is to support social justice issues and local and global compassion projects. Donna is currently the Executive Team Manager for City of Refuge, a non-profit dedicated to be a place where the needy, oppressed and victims of sexual abuse come for physical, spiritual, and emotional support. As a veteran of community relations and outreach, she mentors young leaders on how to establish healthy partnerships with city schools, organizations and local businesses.

Brad Squires is a business and community entrepreneur who is passionate about creating healthy, sustainable organizations. Brad is passionate about giving back and has launched numerous ventures to help underserved populations both in his local community and by integrating a culture of giving back into his businesses. A recent project led by Brad was a Big Day of Service, mobilizing hundreds of volunteers and churches, non profits and businesses in the Orangevale, Fair Oaks

Christina Espinosa currently serves as the Director for Guidance and Counseling at Sacramento City Unified School District. She is responsible for guiding the work of School Counselors in the middle school and high school space.

Jann Murray-Garcia

Jann Murray-García is a pediatrician by training, but a community activist in my heart, and by family legacy. She focuses on social justice as a way to improve child, adolescent, and community health, especially in the implicit, institutional messages of inequality experienced almost daily in our nation's schools, through racially unequal discipline and other schooling practices. Her newest passion is to rent places to stay right on God's unfathomably awesome ocean and escape for peace, reflection, and restoration with my crazy, wonderful husband and two adult children.
