January 2021-Featuring Course Selection Information

Congrats to December Super Staffer

Melissa Mansker, 8th grade Math

Mrs. Mansker is a ray of sunshine in her hall. She goes above and beyond each and every day to make sure that not only her students have everything they need, but that her co-workers do as well. Whether it is a Chromebook, 9 volt battery, snack, or a simple word of encouragement, everyone knows that they can always count on her. She treats each and every student with respect, and exactly the way students should be treated. She is always one step ahead; ready to meet the needs of everyone that she comes across with love and a huge heart. She is a tremendous support on this campus by such things as helping make copies, making video lessons for virtual kiddos, and offering advice when needed. She also brings a positive attitude. When a student isn't having their best day, she is there to lift them up. We can always count on our Tik Tok famous teammate to brighten our day!

Kicking off January with 2021-2022 course selection in Naviance

Naviance Course Planning

KMS students have been exploring colleges and career paths through a variety of assessments in Naviance. All grade level students and parents will utilize Naviance to select courses for next school year.

Parents now have the ability to set up a parent account and assist their students with future planning. See link below for first time log in information. Parents can complete the log in process to have access to Naviance. Students continue to access Naviance through the MyHumble portal. Parents can also access the Student Readiness Report to stay on top of their students progress of course selection and other helpful items in Naviance.

In January and February, each grade level completes course selection for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year in Naviance. Information including helpful videos will be sent to parents regarding our course selection process as well. Our counselors will be providing virtual Q&A time for parents and students. Information on those opportunities will be sent to parents separately. We have provided important dates below.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.
