What's Going on at Mill Creek
Mill Creek Happenings
Thanks to all who attended a Parent/Teacher conference last week. We truly value the partnership with families to promote student learning. I encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher throughout the year as needed/wanted. We get asked a lot, what can I do to help my child at home, and my answer is to ensure they read for 15 minutes a night. It makes a HUGE difference in the long run. As a parent, I know it can be a challenge to get your son/daughter to read at home, but have them put their phone down and read to you. Let them pick what it is, but you won't regret it later in their school years. Practicing math facts is another easier thing to do at home. When you are in the car orally quiz them. Find out what facts they know and start from there.
Veteran's Day- Veterans Day is November 11th. If you have a veteran in your family and would like to honor them please help your child fill out our "Veterans' Day Hero" sheet that was handed out in classrooms this week. Have them attach a picture. If you don't have a picture they can draw one. We will be displaying them next week in our cafe. If you don't have a veteran but would like to do something for a veteran, we will have cards for the students to fill out and we will get them to veterans in our community. Thanks to everyone for your support of our Veterans!
We are still selling Mill Creek Spirit Wear that was on display in our foyer during Parent/Teacher conferences. Contact our secretary Stacie Thomas at email@example.com for questions and/or to place an order.
Belton Education Foundation will be having a food drive on Saturday, November 6th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Price Chopper in Belton. Volunteers will be at Price Chopper with donation lists for those needing suggestions of items to donate.
We only have 11 school days before Thanksgiving Break, time will fly by in November and December.
Have a great weekend- Mr. E
