Check the Status of your College Applications
Most colleges mail a letter to let students know that the college has received your application materials. If they do not mail a letter, typically colleges will provide an access code (via email) for you to check the status of your application. Be on the look out for this information.
If two weeks pass after you submit an application and you have not received either of these, follow up with the college to make sure they have received your application.

STEM Starter Academy Summer Programs
The STEM Starter Academy is part of a statewide initiative to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. This program is for students new to STEM(including high school students) who are interested in attending GCC or HCC. Participants take a summer science, technology, engineering or math class, receive intensive advising, tutoring and career support, and participate in special STEM-focused activities – for free! Students who complete the coursework earn college credit.
For more information about the GCC program, visit www.gcc.mass.edu/STEMacademy
For more information about the HCC program, contact Melissa Paciulli mpaciulli@hcc.edu 413-552-2720
STCC
The STCC STEM Starter Academy program will run July 1 through Aug 9 from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. The centerpiece of the program is that students will take free classes and earn college credit in Math and English. Students will also be provided with a free lunch, tutoring support and advising. In addition, students will investigate STEM careers through fun field trips, symposiums and invited guest speakers both in the summer and throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity for students to make friends, connect with faculty/staff and learn about our campus resources, all while earning the $400 stipend that is provided to students completing the program.
In order to apply students must be a Massachusetts resident: Recent high school graduate: Submit a STCC admissions application for the Fall 2019 semester and have a GPA of 2.0 or above.
