Hello Lakeside Parents and Guardians,

Our 3rd graders will begin IREAD-3 testing on Monday, March 11. It is absolutely critical for 3rd graders to be present for each session of the IREAD-3 test on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of that week. There are no makeups after Friday, March 15. If a student misses all or any portion of the test by the end of that week, they will automatically have to attend the IREAD-3 summer session and take the assessment again.

If you use social media, I would like to remind you to sign-up for our Twitter and Facebook accounts if you have not already done so. We like to share great things happening in Lakeside and Warren, along with many other types of information such as school delays or cancellations.

NO SCHOOL March 18-29, 2019

Lost and Found

We currently have many personal items in the Lost and Found bins located in the school clinic. Please check with your child and if they are missing any clothing, jackets, books, lunchboxes, or other personal items, please have them check our bins. Any item not claimed by the end of the year will be donated to a worthy charity.

Outside Recess

It’s that time of year when we need to remind student to make sure they have appropriate clothing for recess. The district policy states students will be going outside for recess if the temperature and the wind chill are above 20 degrees. We have extra coats, hats, and gloves for students in need. Please contact the front office if you need assistance.

Students must go outside unless we have a doctor statement.

While we love to celebrate, please remember that there is a “no birthday treats “ guideline. To access fun and helpful resources for healthy celebration ideas please visit the district wellness policy by clicking on this link. Also, note that no birthday invitations are allowed to be distributed at school. It is school policy.

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child’s school. This may include your child’s photo, your child’s name or your child’s work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child’s achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child’s school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
