Last Day of School

May 11, 2020

We made it!

Today was supposed to be the last day of the 2019-2020 school year. It's hard to believe that it has been 59 days since we were last in session and we wished each other a "Happy Spring Break!" not knowing all that we were about to endure. I would give anything to have some closure and a chance to give our seniors a proper sendoff. There will come a time when we look back on this and say "remember the Caronavirus??". We will share stories and it will forever be a moment engrained in our experiences, but in time the significance will fade away. But, I think we have all grown, become more resilient, and learned more about ourselves. The things we thought were important may have taken a back seat and the relationships we ignored have had a chance to once again become a priority.

I hope as you read this you and your family are healthy and safe and that your good fortune continues. While the school year is ending, our concern for each student and family will continue. If you need anything, I encourage you to reach out and we will do all that we can to help. There is more to life than the curriculum we teach at CHS and this school year has been a not so gentle reminder of that. Yes, school is important but the well-being of yourself and your loved ones is what matters the most.

Below, you will find a link to a page with several resources that we have put together for you to use however you see fit over the summer. With such an extended time away from one another, we want to make sure you have the opportunity to stay sharp and be ready to learn once we are together again. Nothing here is required nor will it be graded. It is simply there for you as a resource if you wish to take advantage of it.

Stay tuned for announcements concerning summer school and graduation in the coming days. We are working hard behind the scenes to plan these activities while staying focused on health and safety.

Have a wonderful summer. Check-in from time to time with our staff from time to time to let us know how you are doing. We would love to see how you are spending your time.

All the best,

Mr. Casey
