What's Happening this Week?
Reading: We will be working on a project over our last lit circle novels in class this week. Genre bags are due November 25. Literacy stations Tuesday/Friday. We will continue with inference/citing textual evidence in non-fiction text.
English: Chapter 4
Spelling: test Friday
Writer's Workshop: Terrific Turkey writing is due Friday, November 21. We will also begin persuasive writing in class.
Math: We will learn about variables in math and solving equations with an unknown number represented by a variable. We will quiz over this on Thursday. Keep studying facts at home.
Science: Continuing with flight concepts, we will do a science lab on the properties of air. The kids will learn that air has weight and takes up space. Keep looking over and reviewing the flight vocab and info on the study guide and flashcards. Learning the vocab will help the kids understand the concepts learned in the labs.
Indiana History: We will wrap up Chapter 2 this week. We will test over the chapter on Monday, November 24.
Religion: Bible verse to be memorized by Thursday.
