Corn syrup
What is corn syrup anyway?
There is no such thing as a natural corn syrup pressed directly from corn kernels. Instead, the pulpy middle layer called cornstarch is first separated from the outer husk and the inner germ layers. The cornstarch is then stored in giant vats, where natural enzymes are added to break it down into glucose. It is these sugars that are heated and turned into what is called corn syrup.

How is corn syrup made?
First comes the inspection and cleaning process after the kernels arrive, then is the steeping process where the kernels soak for 30 to 40 hours at 50 degrees Celsius, then is the germ separation process where cyclones separate the germ from the slurry, next is the fine grinding and screening where the slurry is ground to separate fiber starch and gluten, and then the separate starch from the gluten and is then converted to syrup
What is corn syrup commonly used for
