Principal's Report
A Weekly Update from Perkiomen Valley Middle School East
A Word From Dr. Clune
Dear PV East Parents,
There is NO School Tuesday, November 8th due to Election Day.
I greatly appreciate the concerns that were raised by some parents regarding our 'Tik Tok' Dance Challenge. While all three dance routines that we proposed for students were school appropriate, the Tik Tok artist that they came from did have other dance routines that were not school appropriate which a student could easily find by searching the artist's name. This raised other concerns about labeling anything 'Tik Tok' due to its overall negative influence. We regret any unintended negative connection with our PBIS program.
The marking period ended today. Please make sure to review your child's grades and contact their teacher if you have any questions.
There is information regarding Parent/Teacher conferences below. We look forward to meeting with you on Tuesday, November 22nd.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter. We maintain a very active social media presence.
Sincerely,
Seamus Clune, Ph.D.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent/teacher conferences will be held Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22. Parents/guardians will schedule using the conference module in the ParentVUE portal beginning at 12pm on Monday, November 7.
Choose "Conference" from the menu on the left side of the home page. On the summary page, there will be a link for each of your children's teams. Parents can schedule, unschedule or reschedule at any time leading up to the scheduled conference time.
For assistance: how to schedule a conference in ParentVUE. Please note the conference module referenced will not be viewable until 12 pm on November 7.
If you do not have a ParentVUE account, you will need to create one in order to access the conference scheduling module. To set up your account, please contact the helpdesk@pvsd.org.
End of First Marking Period
- Review your child's grades on ParentVUE. For more information on accessing ParentVUE please see the following instructions or log-in information.
- If your child has no grade or a "0" for any assignments, have your child speak to his/her teacher asap to make-up assignments, if able or necessary.
- Review your child's Google Classroom pages with them. Your child can log on to their Google Classroom pages and show you completed assignments. Please note, students may submit a Google Classroom assignment without completing it. If your child received a "0" on an assignment and Google Classroom is indicating that it is submitted, it was submitted without it being complete.
- If you have any additional questions please email your child's teacher or team directly.

Free Breakfast Program for ALL Students.
As a reminder, Governor Tom Wolf announced free school breakfast for all students across the commonwealth. The Universal Free Breakfast Program will run through the end of the 2022-23 school year and is open to all students, no questions asked.
We are aware that some families may prefer that their students not participate in the free breakfast at school (in some instances last year, students were eating two breakfasts - one at home prior to school and one after arriving at school). Families may choose to “opt their child(ren) out” from obtaining breakfast using this form. If a family opts out, the student’s account will be flagged and breakfast will not be available to them. You may change this preference at any time by contacting our Food Service department.
