Message from the Principal
Dear Central Road Families,
Thank you for picking up your child’s additional classroom resources on Thursday. If you were unable to make it, we still have the items for you. Please stop by our school office during our hours of 8:00 am- 4:30 pm.
In preparation for in-person learning, Central Road has created a video that provides students with a visual of our new arrival procedures. Teachers will be showing the video to students and answering any questions, prior to the student’s return date.
The self-certification process is an important collaborative process between Central Road and families. If your child is returning to in-person learning, please sign the self-certification card in the lanyard that was provided to you during our first supply distribution. Parent signatures are required daily. If you need a new lanyard, please visit our school office prior to your child’s return date. Thank you for helping us to ensuring everyone’s safety.
Our PTA will be hosting a Chalk the Walk event on Saturday, September 26th, and Sunday, September 27th. Students will be invited to draw pictures of Wolfie on sidewalks in our community. Mr. Meyers will provide students with lessons on how to draw a wolf during art class. There will be additional information shared soon.
Young Rembrandts, an after school art program, is offering virtual classes. For more information and to sign-up, please visit their website.

Let’s make it a great week!

Mask Requirements for In-Person Learning
Students will be required to wear face coverings at school. Face coverings must cover a student’s nose and mouth. A face shield may not be a replacement for a mask, but can be worn in addition to the mask. We kindly ask families to send an extra face mask to school, in case a mask needs to be replaced during the day. ISBE recently changed its guidance and gaiter masks are no longer permitted.
Parent/Caregiver MAP Testing Tips
Before Testing Administration
Prepare district-issued Chromebook device for testing using the Device Setup guide
Confirm that the communication platform (GoogleMeets/Go Guardian) is working and that the student can communicate effectively with the school proctor
Make sure that the student has access to any accommodations that they need and have been approved by the school/district (pencil/paper, calculator, bi-lingual dictionary, etc.)
Work with the student to develop a plan on how to minimize distractions that could occur during the test
During Test Administration
Help student to login using the test session name and password provided by the proctor
Ensure that the student is following all rules laid out by the school/district and that the student is not using unapproved devices or accommodations
Monitor progress of the student and ensure that technical difficulties are not preventing the student from trying their hardest
Be prepared to contact the proctor should any technical issues arise
Enable the student to demonstrate what they are ready to learn by not providing assistance in answering questions
Ending Test Session
Help your student shut down the MAP Growth assessment window
Ask the student how the assessment went, what they think they did well, and what questions they found most challenging
If your child does not complete the MAP assessment in this window the test will not be scored.
