Week of May 2
We're headed into May - our final month of the school year - and it is going to be a busy one with many celebratory and culminating events and activities. We'll share details about each week's events in this newsletter.
This Week
Monday is Eid al-Fitr, and we wish all of our Muslim families an Eid sa’id.
Monday also is the start of Staff Appreciation Week, and we appreciate all that the SP/AT PTA is doing to make the week a special one.
We are still in the middle of Student Council's A-Z Countdown. This week's themes are:
- Monday = G for Graduate Day (celebrate 8th graders by wearing GBS wear)
- Tuesday = H for Hat Day
- Wednesday = I for I Belong at Attea Day (wear school clothing/colors)
- Thursday = J for Jammies Day
- Friday = K for Kindness Day (practice showing kindness to others)
On Tuesday there is an Attea Orchestra Concert at 7pm. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Spring MAP Testing
The final testing window of the year is upon us. Next week our 6th and 7th graders will be taking their spring MAP tests. 8th graders will not be taking MAP tests.
On Monday, May 9th, and Tuesday, May 10th, sixth and seventh grade students will take the MAP ELA and math tests respectively. Testing will take place each morning from 8:20 am until 10:20 am. The whole building will be running a modified schedule, and eighth grade students will have B block classes that are a bit longer.
A message from Food Services
Dear Parents,
One of our popular lunch choices is a yogurt, muffin and cheese stick accompanied by fresh fruit & vegetables. Unfortunately, cheese sticks are currently unavailable due to supply chain issues. As our kitchens run out of cheese sticks, they will begin to substitute this item with sunflower kernels (a great source of protein). Should cheese sticks become available again they will be included in this lunch option however; we do not anticipate them being available within the next 30 days.
We apologize and greatly appreciate your understanding.
