RMS CAMPUS TOUR
Thank you to all the Alamosa, Maryland, Empresa, and Bobier families who attended the RMS Campus tour last Wednesday. Our next tour will be on Thursday, March 9th.
Band and Orchestra Festival
Mr. Anderson, our fantastic Band teacher, was very pleased with the band's performance this week. The Concert Band has grown a lot this year and has made great strides despite several challenges in the classroom. Mr. Anderson looks forward to preparing music for our Spring Concert and working on new skills with these talented young musicians so they can be part of our Wildcat Band next year.
The Concert Band received a rating of Excellent from the judges, including an excellent rating on their sight reading. The piece they played was very difficult, and the students did fairly well, considering we don’t practice that skill often.
🎵🎼🎶🎺🎷📯🎵🎼🎶🎺🎷📯🎵🎼🎶🎺🎷📯🎵🎼🎶🎺🎷📯
The RMS Wildcat band is truly an elite middle school band, and the students proved it this week. The students also did a great job listening to other groups perform and got to hear a stellar performance from Vista High School. Their band was truly exquisite, and I can’t wait to see our students continue to grow under Mr. Dulaney’s leadership when they go to high school.
🐾 CAREER FEST 2023 AT RMS! 🐾
"WILDCATS DREAM BIG"
It was a fantastic Career Fest at RMS today. Students learned about their future career options and Financial Literacy. They were interested in receiving information from guest speakers.
Students learned about a variety of different careers such as firefighter, lifeguard, park ranger, massage therapist, cyber security, and more.
It was wonderful to see our Wildcats engaging with the speakers and utilizing their communication skills.
OUR AMAZING COUNSELING TEAM
We ended the week with our RMS Career Fest put on by our fantastic counseling team. Thank you, Miss. Licona, Mrs. Black, and Mr. Way. for your tireless effort in achieving this wonderful experience for our Wildcats and in, which the RMS staff also enjoyed so much.

🎨🖌️ PSA VIDEO & ARTS CONTEST 📽️📹
This an excellent opportunity for Middle and High School students in San Diego County! Reaching out to all the creative and talented students to help inspire others to make healthy choices, especially when it comes to not using alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or other drugs. This year's annual 420 Remix, a celebration of sober and drug-free choices, invites students to submit either a still image in landscape format that will go on the billboard, a 30-second video, or social media post for a chance to win prizes and have your entry featured on the billboard in local movie theater ads or online. Substance use is a big problem, but the good news is that most teens don't use, and more can make that choice with positive influences—help and support from people like you. Your entry can be part of the positive influence.

👮👮♀️🚓🐕🦺K9 AND K9 DEPUTIES ARE VISITING RMS NEXT MONTH!👮👮♀️🚓🐕🦺
One of the Wildcats won the Sheriff Valentine's Card contest last month! We are excited about the K9 Demonstration after Spring Break! Officers from the San Diego Sheriff's Department - Vista Station really enjoyed reading our students' lovely Valentine's cards, and they decided to choose one of our classes at RMS for the K9 Demo! They will bring some goodies for the winner when they visit for the demo. They had over 200 submissions for this contest and didn't expect so many cards! A certificate will be provided for our winner when they come, as well as a certificate of participation for the class. Congratulation Wildcats!

RMS SCHOOL COMMUNITY RESOURCES
LCAP SURVEY
Every school district in the state of California is required to develop a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to outline the actions and services that will support student academic, social, and behavioral achievement. We call our LCAP the Blueprint for Educational Excellence and Innovation. The LCAP must go through an annual revision process to ensure that students, parents, teachers, and staff members have the opportunity to provide feedback on the current actions and services and to make suggestions for additional actions and services that students need to reach their full potential as learners. We are hosting community forums and a district-wide survey to capture this feedback. Please see the information below to share your voice and engage in our annual LCAP revision process.
Community Forums:
Virtual Community Forum - March 1st from 5:30-6:30 pm, Click HERE for a Zoom link
In-Person Community Forum - March 7th from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Vista Innovation Center
