EES 3RD GRADERS HELPING BOONE COUNTY FAMILIES IN NEED
Dear Families,
Our class has decided to embrace the upcoming holiday season by focusing on GIVING. Specifically we will be helping the Go Pantry organization. GO Pantry, a Boone County based 501(c)3 non-profit, provides weekend food bags (GO BAGS) during the school year and weekly food boxes (GO BOXES) to needy students/families to help over extended breaks from school. These items go directly to Boone County students/families.
This holiday season they have set a goal to make/donate 300 food boxes to students in our own district who otherwise may not have enough food to nourish them over the 2-week winter break from school. Our class in conjunction with other third grade classes will be working together to fill 3 boxes. There are specific items that must be included in the boxes. These items range from a box of granola bars to a container of coffee to cans of chicken and soup. All items are less than $3.00 each. Thanks to everyone who has signed up already.
If you would like to donate an item, please click the following link to sign up: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4EACAE23ABFD0-gopantry These items will then need to be returned to school by next Tuesday, 11/28. Please make sure that your donated item has an expiration date past January 15, 2018. I will deliver our box of donations the following weekend to the Go Pantry organization. This project is completely voluntary. I would love to have everyone participate, but I completely understand if you’re not able to at this time. If you would like to know more about the GoPantry organization, here’s a video that explains how they got their start https://youtu.be/6KJZE8vNa00.
Thanks for considering this project for your child.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Newman
