A Note From the Principals
Parents,
We have completed the middle-of-year MAP diagnostics for all 1st-5th graders. Yay! Our results show a lot of student growth from the beginning to middle of the year. This diagnostic also shows us just where our students are needing extra support. Teachers will spend the next few weeks designing and implementing individualized instruction in these areas. We are excited to continue to watch them soar!
There has been an increase in the number of students who are coming to the cafeteria in the mornings but rather than eating, they are playing in the line or waiting for their friends to arrive. The longer they are in the cafeteria, the more of their morning instruction and routines that are missed in the classroom. As a result of this, we have increased the amount of staff members that are on breakfast duty. Any students who are not meeting campus expectations in the cafeteria will be sent straight to class. Please discuss this with your students.
We thank you for your support,
Williams Admin

The Southeast Lamar CISD Attendance Boundary Survey. This is NOT for staff…only parents!
In a growing school system, the district’s attendance zones will inevitably change to accommodate the growth. As a fast-growing district, we are experiencing significant enrollment increases in some areas. As a result, some schools are over capacity while others have available capacity. The Board may consider leveling plans to balance student enrollment across campuses and alleviate overcrowding.
The district’s process is to collect feedback from community stakeholders regarding attendance boundary options. We specifically look to include stakeholders from the potentially impacted campuses/areas. Please note that receipt of this survey does not necessarily mean that the boundary change will directly impact you.
This survey will be open until January 31. Preliminary results of this survey will be presented to the Board in February.
Please check your e-mail inbox for an e-mail from K-12 Insights, our external survey company, to complete the survey.
If you find that you have not received a survey e-mail, please e-mail Info@lcisd.org with your name, campus and student names.
Thank you for your time and input.

REPEATED INFORMATION:
Attendance Notes
Excuse notes are required for all absences within 5 school days of your child's return. Notes can be sent in your child's backpack or via email. If you choose to email excuse notes - send to classroom teachers AND our Attendance Clerk (kathleen.rachar@lcisd.org).
***This is the best way to ensure that excuse notes are received.***
Parent Visitors at Lunch
You are invited to eat and visit with your child during their lunch time daily, unless the campus is shut down to visitors (testing days). Visitors will be asked to adhere to the following rules while on campus:
1.) Siblings (of any age) are not permitted on campus during school hours.
2.) Visitors should come at lunch time, visit with your child, and then will be asked to leave. This is NOT a time for conferences with the teachers. Teachers are on duty at this time and must be attentive to the needs of the other children at lunch.
3.) Only your student may sit with you at the Parent/Student Lunch Table.
4.) Food should not be shared with students outside of your family.
5.) Cell phone camera feature should not be used.
Thank you for helping keep our Wranglers safe!
