The music of Luxembourg
Luxembourg's music and cultural heritage is Germanic. The national music federation is the Union Grand-duc Adolphe (UGDA); another important institution is the Luxembourg Conservatory of music with some 2,600 students each year. Annual music festivals include the Echternach music Festival and the Rock um Knuedler in Luxembourg City. The national radio station, Radio Luxembourg, is listened to throughout Europe. Modern Luxembourg is home to an array of performers, folk, classical and pop, as well as rock, hip-hop and other genres like hardstyle, jumpstyle and hardcore.
The anthem is "Ons Hémecht" ("Our Homeland"), which was written by Jean-Antoine Zinnen (music) and Michel Lentz (lyrics). It has been the national anthem since 1895.
The sports and activities of Luxembourg
The Grand Duchy (other name for the Luxembourg area) has been represented at a total of 21 Olympic Games. The country has two Olympic medalists
Football, as in so much of the world, is the most popular spectating sport. There team is nicknamed the 'lions'
Cycling is a popular sport for amateurs and pros alike as the country is fairly flat. Luxembourgian cyclists have won the Tour de France four times, ranking Luxembourg seventh overall.
Tennis is also popular. There are 53 tennis clubs in the country, the oldest was founded in 1902.
Cricket is not as popular in Luxembourg, but games are organized. It is supported primarily by the British community.
Golf is played by some people in Luxembourg. There are 6 golf courses, most of them are close to the capital
Ice skating is enjoyed in the winter. The "Red Rock skate park" is the country's largest skating rink.

Here are some popular foods:
- Thüringer - Sausages that taste like a spicy version of the German bratwurts.
- Gromperkichler - A carefully spiced potato pancake with chopped onions and parsley , then deep-fried.
- Tierteg - Another kind of potato pancake made with sauerkraut.
- Rieslingspaschtéit - A popular loaf-shaped meat pie prepared with Riesling wine and aspic, usually served in slices.
- Pâté- A spreadable paste, usually made of meat but vegetarian versions exist.
- Quetschentaart- A plum tart; it, along with peach, cherry, and pear tarts are a typical dessert and can be found in any pastry shop or restaurant.
- Öennenzop - Onion soup that is usually served with cheese toast.
