Stars and Wishes
Stars
1. I know I say this in my "Stars" section a lot, but I don't think I can say it enough....you truly are such an amazing staff. I am continually impressed with what you do each day. Thank you for all you do.
2. The students are talking about EXPLORE and if their friends are registering. Keep talking it up!!
3. Students know the word of the month and can give examples of it. Thank you for keeping this in front of them.
4. We are so lucky to have the paras that we have here at Mann. The work they do to help our students is incredible. Thank you!
5. I hope your weekend is a great one. See you Monday at the Mann Huddle!!
A Wish or two or three:
1. Please get on Tower and score yourself on your growth plan and why you feel as you do. Put evidence on Tower as well if it will let you. (I know many of you were having issues with that. Let me know if you can't)
2. Please do not take computers from the Learning Lab if you have not signed up for them. We still have classes who are short computers when it is their time to take the computers.

Please put in Newsletters, Facebook etc......any parent communication
Please know that you are welcome to eat lunch with your child. You are also welcome to bring them food. However, there are a few things in which I need your help:
1. If you bring your child food, this food may not be shared with other students in the school. This is due to allergies etc...
2. Once your child is released to go back to their room, please say your goodbyes in the lunchroom. Please do not go out to recess with them or back to their rooms.
3. Make sure to sign in when you come in, get a visitor's tag and sign out when you leave.
4. Also, please remember that the district has a policy that birthday treats may not be brought to school.
All procedures are in place to make sure we have a safe environment conducive to learning. I appreciate your help with this.

Class Lists for 2016-2017
Brittany will be sending home a note with the students asking parents if they will be returning next year. Please make sure to let your parents know about this note and encourage them to turn it in even if they are coming back.
LEADERSHIP NOTES- Update on breakfast food
Concerns:
1. Breakfast choices- There is not enough food on popular food days, like pizza.
Here is Kelly's Response:
If an item is cut back on, its because we get so much back as waste and it has to be thrown away.
When we have to throw it away it drives up our food cost.
If a teacher doesn't have enough they are to check with their neighbors and get from them.
Due to the new guidelines we have to do Offer v Serve that's why they have 2 choices.
The one time we were short on pizza it was a delivery issue.
When the meals are planned its usually pretty close to half or more, we don't feed all the students every day
so that class will not receive the full count for their class if they only feel 10 to 12 every day. This cuts back on waste
and food cost. We only feed close to 300.
Hope this help.
250.00 You have two weeks to do this!!!

MANN HUDDLE ON MONDAY!!!!
Update on my dad: Many of you have asked about how my dad is doing, so I thought I would update again. He began chemo last Thursday and had his second round yesterday. (Thursday) He will have a third round next week, then a week off. He will then begin the same routine after the week off. He is not eating much, so the doctor has changed his medication to see if we can stimulate his appetite. My mom is hanging in there. We all have our days for sure, but everyone has been such a great support. I appreciate your patience when I have to rearrange things or postpone meetings. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Collaborative Planning Meetings
INFORMATION NEEDED FOR THIS MONTH:
For March: (this needs to be done BY your CPT time)
Your assignment for March is to schedule a meeting with another teacher in the building. You need to choose a staff member who is:---not in your same grade level, not someone you talk to on a regular basis and someone who is not in your focus group. I will have a calendar for you to sign up on in Canvas. Calendar is up.
This is what your observation needs to entail:
1. The visit should be at least 30 minutes.
2. The visit can be done at a time other than your plan time. We will get classes covered. (I will have to use Ben to do this)
3. This should be a one on one conversation
4. You will be responsible for setting up the visit.
The conversation needs to be centered on the following:
A. What physical changes has this teacher made to their room and why? If no changes have been made, what are their thoughts for change next year?
B. How is the staff member managing Lexia and Dreambox as far as:
-Getting the recommended minutes for each student
-Using the reports for each program
-Thoughts on how the programs are helping their students
-Any concerns with either program
C. How does this staff member have their reading set up?
-How do they document the progress of their students?
-How often to they document?
-Is there a form they use for this?
D. How does this staff member have their math set up?
-Do they have math stations/centers/rounds?
-If so, what changes or tweaking have they done?
E. What is one take away you will use from this visit?
Please be ready to share this information when we meet for our CPT meeting. Please either type it up for have notes written down.

Good To Know- anticipated employee high absence days
For the 2015-2016 school year, we anticipate heavy employee absences on the dates listed below. Historically, Kelly Services has had a difficult time filling absences with substitutes on these dates. If possible and if an event hasn’t already been scheduled, we’d appreciate any effort you might make to avoid scheduling events on these days. Also, it would be extremely helpful if we can ask teachers to avoid Fridays for Assessment Testing. This made a huge difference last year! Beyond these, please take into consideration these high absence days:
· Friday, March 25th – Good Friday
· Monday, March 28th – Easter Monday
· Friday, May 5th – SPS Graduation
· Friday, May 6th – SPS and Evangel Graduation
· Friday, May 13th – MSU and Drury Graduation
