Message From the Principal
Hello Meade Parents and Guardians, at Meade Middle it is our daily goal to provide each and every child with the highest quality education possible. The staff of Meade Middle is committed to seeing their students grow and succeed through their mission to help Motivate student Excellence in an Anti-racist, Diverse community of Empowerment. We can not achieve this goal without your help.
National Parental Involvement Day was November 17th. We enjoyed having parents join our lunches and eat with their student. We are going to invite our parents on a regular basis (once a month) to have lunch with their student. The next date we invite our parents to lunches is December 21st. Further communication about this will come out as we get closer to the date. Another way you can be involved in your student's education is by monitoring Brightspace Parent & Guardian. All parents and guardians are invited to join the Brightspace Parent & Guardian community. Features include dynamic dashboards where families can track student progress, teacher communication tools to support school-family connections, and easy access to lessons, assignments, and assessed work/grades. More information can be found using this link.

School-based involvement includes activities such as parent-teacher conferences, attendance at school meetings, and participation in parent organizations. This Monday, November 21st, from 12:35-4:30, Meade Middle School will be hosting drop-in parent/teacher conferences. This is an in-person opportunity at Meade Middle to meet with your student’s individual teachers. Meetings last approximately 5 minutes each. If you would like to request a longer conference, please reach out to your student’s core teachers. We hope to see you then! Additionally, we are seeking parent and guardian volunteers to join us during the school day. Please click here for more information on how to become a volunteer. Research shows that parent and guardian involvement improves attendance, increases test scores, and has a positive impact on the psychological well-being of students.
At Meade Middle School we believe love is action. Love is truth-telling. Love is fighting for what is right. Love is doing what is right. We are committed to creating educational spaces that tend to the harm and violence that has been enacted against BIPOC bodies and minds-specifically, those of our children. “Get into good trouble, necessary trouble." - John Lewis
