GMAS Assessment Guide for Parents
Spring 2022
Dear Parents,
On May 2, 2022, we will begin to administer the Georgia Milestones End of Grade (EOG) assessments for the 2021-22 school year. Due to the secure nature of the Georgia Milestones, no virtual options are permitted by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). The assessments must be administered in person, in a secure environment.
Students who continue to learn virtually should report to their home schools to test. You will receive information either from AVA or the home school personnel regarding the particulars of the Spring EOG administration.
Know that it is very important for all students to participate in the Georgia Milestones EOG assessments. Student-level EOG results may be used by teachers to tailor instruction and provide intervention opportunities to better meet the needs of your child.
We understand that families may be apprehensive about testing in person, but know that we are taking every precaution to ensure a safe testing environment. These precautions follow district guidance and include, but are not limited to, social distancing, sanitized devices, flexible scheduling, optional wearing of PPE, etc.
If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or Mrs. Sithole, assistant principal at mjsithole@atlanta.k12.ga.us
Sincerely,
Melanie Sithole
