Principal Points from Mrs. Thompson
Today is the final day of the first quarter of the school year. Teachers will be preparing report cards for distribution next week. Additionally, teachers will be reaching out to families to set up Parent/Teacher Conferences that will take place between October 24th and November 18th. Conferences are a great time to talk one-on-one with your child's teacher regarding their progress thus far. Teachers will be reviewing NWEA reports, report cards, and general observations made over the first nine week grading period. Look for conference information to come from your child's teacher soon, if you haven't already!
On Thursday, we will be hosting our Fall Picture Retake Day. Don't forget to return your original packet of pictures with you child in order for retakes to take place!
Have a great weekend!

Leopard Book of the Month - October
Leopard Book of the Month is back again this year! Each class will read & talk about the monthly book. There is also a related activity to go with each book. Our book this month is Amy Wu and the Warm Welcome by Kat Zhang. In this book, Amy Wu helps a new student feel welcome. Students will be making welcome signs to hang up at Lantern Road to help anyone new to our school feel welcome. Students are encouraged to include things that would make them feel welcome such as: writing in their native language, describing the great things about LRE, or adding colorful decorations. Once completed, the signs will be hung up around the school to make everyone feel welcome!
You can listen to the story here as read by the author, Kat Zhang.
