Weekly Newsletter
Ariyan is a senior who moved to Oceanside from Japan in June of 2019 as an English Learner. He only had one semester here at ECHS before having to transition to online learning during the pandemic.
Despite these challenges, Ariyan persevered and worked very hard to learn English. His determination and dedication paid off! Ariyan had set a goal for himself to graduate with honors, and is now on track to do so after earning an A in his first college class. He continued on and took another college course this year during his senior year along with 2 Advanced Placement courses. Ariyan plans to attend MiraCosta College in the fall and eventually transfer to a 4-year university and study Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
We'd like to thank the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce for their continued partnership witht he OUSD school district and their monthly recognition of our Rising Stars. CONGRATULATIONS Ariyan! We wish you all the best as you continue to strive to reach your goals!

OUSD COVID-19 Testing Update
Due to recent changes in the funding for COVID testing through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the federal agency responsible for reimbursement of funds for COVID testing and vaccination for the uninsured, HRSA has exhausted its existing funds and is awaiting additional funding from Congress. This impacts the testing options offered through OUSD's providers as they are no longer able to provide testing for patients who are non-OUSD students that are uninsured. During this time and until funding is renewed, our testing partners will continue to accept patients who have their own health insurance coverage.
We have experienced a significant decline in testing and positive cases in our county, city, and in OUSD. The testing sites at North Terrace and South Oceanside Elementary will close and only be reopened if demand increases. OUSD still offers the following testing options:
- Achieve Health Management now requires insurance for all. Register to test HERE.
- Libby Elementary, M-F, 9:30a-4:00p
- The Inspire Diagnostics (Lab) will continue to test students, regardless of insurance status. NEW TESTING HOURS listed below. Register to test HERE.
- OHS, M-F, 9:00am - 1:00pm
- ECHS, M-F, 10:00am - 2:00pm
- District Office Conf. Rm 2, M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm
