Hooch Happenings

December 3, 2021

Todd's Tidbits

Hooch Families,

We are on the verge of finishing semester 1 and saying goodbye to a very long 2021! We have one week until exams (which begin Tuesday, December 14) and I wanted to remind you that the extended day lab is open Mon-Thurs from 3:45-5:45 for additional study time.

In addition, teachers throughout the school will continue to run morning help sessions almost every day, so encourage your student to attend. Please be sure to review the exam schedule with your son/daughter to make sure they are prepared for the week.

Lastly, on behalf of the Chattahoochee staff, I want to wish you happy holidays and a restful break spent with family and fun.

Many blessings to you and yours!

Dr. Mike Todd

ACT Exam Opt-in for 11th Graders

11th grade students will have an opportunity to take the ACT on March 8th. They will need to opt-in for the test between Wednesday, December 8th and Wednesday, January 5th. A survey will be sent to 11th graders through their FCS email on December 8th.

PSAT/NMSQT results should be available Dec 6th online. Results will only be accessible online this year.

Important Reminders:

• Students should create a College Board account if they have not done this yet, so they can easily access their scores online and unlock a robust set of personalized resources to help them understand their scores. Students should use a personal, sustainable email for this account.

◦ Score reports for PSAT-related assessments will be exclusively online. With online reporting, students are seamlessly connected to other College Board opportunities, Official SAT® Practice on Khan Academy®, college readiness resources, and a path to find scholarships.

• Students 13 years old and older who provided their email address on their PSAT/NMSQT answer sheets will receive an email reminder to view their October PSAT/NMSQT scores online.

• PSAT/NMSQT scores will be available to students starting December 6–7.

• Students who don’t see their scores when they log in after Dec 7 may need to enter an access code. A unique code with be sent to student FCS email accounts to use if this occurs.

• Students will have an opportunity to connect with 1,500 colleges and over $300 million in scholarships through Student Search Service® via their College Board account.

If students need assistance with their College Board Account, please call the following number:

As we prepare for the holiday, please remind your students to take their school-issued computers and chargers home. During the break, be sure to turn them on several times a week and run Windows updates (https://youtu.be/0b3oo9uzgcQ).

Counseling Corner

We are accepting schedule correction requests from now until December 14th. Schedules for 2nd semester are available on Infinite Campus for students to access and review. We are beginning this process now so that all corrections are made prior to the first day of the 2nd semester, January 4, 2022. We want all of our students in classes and ready for instruction on day one.

Please be aware, that for those students who have registered for college courses or virtual courses, their courses may still be in the process of being added to their schedules, so it may appear that there is a hole in their schedule, when actually there is not.

As always, our highest priorities during the schedule correction process include:

  • Students who are missing a course
  • Students who need a course for graduation/college admission
  • Students who have a course listed where credit has already been earned
  • Students who need to make up a failed course

The schedule correction form may be obtained from our website at www.chattcougar.com and is also attached. The form must be completed in its entirety and with all required signatures. Please note the following prior to completing the schedule correction form.

  • You may only submit one schedule correction form
  • Requests to change teachers will not be considered
  • Emailed schedule correction requests will not be accepted
  • Requests to switch from a face-to-face class to an online class will not be considered
  • Requests to drop year-long electives will not be considered
  • Textbooks must be returned to the main office for any change that is approved
  • All changes are subject to availability

As always, if you have concerns or questions regarding your child’s grade(s), or if you have placement concerns, the first point of contact is the teacher.

Flag Football – In their 1st inaugural season, the girls flag football team finished 4th in the area and qualified for the GHSA state playoffs. Unfortunately, they finished just short in a tough loss at McEachern HS 14 to 12. We’re so proud of the success they saw in their first season and certainly set the tone for their future.

Girls Basketball – 5-3 overall record, 0-0 in region play. Region play begins today 12/3/21.

Boys Basketball – 5-2 overall record, 0-0 in region play. Region play begins today 12/3/21.

Wrestling – 2-0 overall record, 1-0 in region play. Wrestling swept their two opponents in East Forsyth HS and Centennial HS this past Wednesday. Next match at home is December 8th at 6:00pm. Come and support!
