Power to a power law

When you get a power to a power, you multiply them.

(a^2)^2 = a^4

Multiplying exponents law

When you get two powers with the same base that were getting multiplied, you add them.

a^2 * a^2 = a^4

Dividing exponents law

When you have to divide the exponents, you just subtract them.

a^6/a^2 = a^4

Zero exponent law

Anything to the power zero is one.

4^0 = 1
