North School K-News
9-16-16
I am sending this newsletter home by e-mail and a paper copy this week. Next week I will start sending the newsletter only by e-mail unless you let me know that you want a paper copy each week. I will be glad to send paper copies to anyone who wants that instead of by e-mail. Just let me know.
I can’t believe how much we have accomplished in just 21 days. Our classroom routines are getting easier and all of the children like to work hard and get “clipped up” on the behavior chart. We expect students to practice being Safe, Respectful and Responsible in all settings at school.
Mid Quarter Progress Reports are attached to the paper copy of the newsletter. At this time I’ll just be reporting on ABC recognition, number recognition, counting to 110 and 2D shapes. This will let you know where your child needs extra practice in these areas.
In Math we will be spending a lot of time counting groups of objects. By the end of the year students will be expected to be able to count how many items are in a group and record that with a number. We will count groups of items up to 20. Most students have groups of toys that could be used to make groups to count. This is an easy concept to practice at home.
