Updates and Reminders...
Happy Thursday everyone! Would you believe that there are only 26 more school days until Spring Break?! Hang in there...I know you can do it:)
- Student Attendance: Now is the time for us to take a close look at student attendance. We were hit hard by the flu (and it is still lingering) as well as strep, and have seen a dramatic drop in our attendance rate. We are currently at 95.5 for the year. Let one of the attendance team members know if you have any concerns about specific students in your classroom. Your school attendance team includes Aleks, Gina, and me:)
- School Fundraiser: Please join us on March 20th for the Friends of Carl Von Linne's Annual Gala. Ticket order forms can be found in the Main Office or you may purchase tickets online through Eventbrite. Your attendance at this worthwhile event would really, really, really be appreciated! Please try to join us.
- Progress Reports for 3rd Quarter: We will print progress reports next Friday (March 6th) between 12:00-1:00 pm. Plan accordingly:)
- Grade Levels: We will not have grade levels next week--CTU released.
- Semester 1 Awards Ceremony: We will present awards for perfect attendance and honor roll on Friday, March 6th. 8:30-5th and 6th; 9:00-3rd and 4th; 9:30-7th and 8th; 10:00-1st and 2nd. Ceremonies should last about 20 minutes. Please be prompt! Parent invitations have been placed in mailboxes.
Month of Kindness
Did you figure out who your secret person is? Make sure that you stop in the Main Office sometime today or tomorrow and write down your guess. The big reveal will take place Friday afternoon!
Just Ask Jess
With all the testing that is coming up, please make sure to inform the special education teachers and myself of testing times and windows so that we can plan accordingly. We will try to mirror the general education schedule as much as we can, but please be patient as there are always hiccups. Any questions or concerns as always.....Just Ask Jess!!!!
Clerk's Corner
If a student arrives late to your classroom, don't forget to write the arrival time on your attendance envelope. This is required in ASPEN. If they arrive with a tardy slip, we have already added it for you.
Donations Accepted!
The Friends of Carl Von Linne (FCVL) would appreciate your help in securing donations for their raffle and silent auction. Do you have a restaurant or business that you frequently visit? Why not ask them to donate a gift certificate, gift basket, or item for the Gala? Donation letters are available in the Main Office. Don't forget to purchase your tickets for the March 20th event!
Parra's Pearls of Wisdom
If you are going to call-in sick, leave early, or have the need of a personal day please be sure to let an administrator know. Communicating to just the clerk or case manager is not enough. You must inform an administrator. Failure to inform an administrator may result in a non-approved "zero pay day".
