MSCR Running Classes
No experience running? No problem! This 45 minute class leads new runners through non-competitive, run/walk interval workouts leading up to a 5k! Workouts range from 1.5-3.1 miles. Running 101 is perfect for the novice runner looking to complete his/her first 5k. Participants should feel comfortable walking 2 miles prior to beginning this class. Teens 14+ may register with a participating adult. Skip 4/14 and 4/16.

The next step for runners! This 60 minute class builds on run/walk intervals while introducing new workouts including hills, speed workouts and distance runs. Runners will complete a 5 mile run the final week of class. Participants should feel comfortable run/walking a 5k (3.1 miles) in 43 minutes or less. Workouts range from 3-5 miles. Running 102 is perfect for the casual runner looking to increase speed, distance and fitness. Pace of class is geared for those running a 11-13 minute per mile pace. Teens 14+ may register with a participating adult. Skip 4/14 and 4/17.

Intermediate runners focus on improving their 5k and 10k race times through advanced workouts. Participants should feel comfortable completing a 5k in 35 minutes or less. Workouts will range from 3-6.2 miles. Running 103 is perfect for the intermediate runner/racer looking to gain speed. The pace of this class is appropriate for runners able to maintain a pace of 9-11 minute miles for a 5K. Teens 14+ may register with a participating adult. Skip 4/14 and 4/16.
