Supporting tough kids in the classroom is a beginning/beginner + level course. This course will provide participants with a basic foundation of function-informed behavior principles. The focus of this course is implementation of preventative, teaching and response strategies and not about paperwork completion. This course would be appropriate for general education teachers and special education teachers that support general education teachers implementing Behavior Intervention Plans, and instructional coaches.
Course Objectives:
Participants will gain knowledge and understanding of why students may exhibit problem behavior in the classroom.
Participants will learn strategies to prevent behaviors, teach and reinforce expected behavior.
Participants will be introduced to evidence based response strategies.
