Audition Information/EOY Final

Students have until Monday, May 14th @ 8:24am to upload their scales and audition music into Google Classroom.


This is for ALL 7th and 8th grade students!


Student will need to enroll in the Audition Google Class using the following code:

The audition/ end of year final does count for 3 Major Test Grades-Scales, Audition Music an Sight Reading.


The general late work policy for Scoggins Middle School is provided to promote student responsibility and consistency throughout the building. For regular daily and weekly assignments, students may receive a grade no higher than a 70 for work turned in one day late. If work is turned in two days late, the highest grade a student may receive is a 60. After two days, and up to one week after the assignment was due, the maximum grade a student may earn is a 50. After one week, the student may receive a zero for a missing assignment.

Booster Meeting-Please consider attending!

The Scoggins Middle School Band Booster is looking for people for next year’s Board. We need a President, a Treasurer ( a financial background is very helpful), someone to coordinate chaperones and volunteers, a Secretary, someone to handle spirit wear and someone for hospitality.


For the most part these are very easy jobs with a 45 minute meeting once a month and an additional hour or two commitment a month. (Our Treasurer usually works 4-6 hours a month, but may climb to 8-10 hours a month for fundraising or startup). This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved and informed! If you are interested in any position please reach out to Mr. Davis and plan to be in attendance at our booster meeting on Wednesday, May 16th at 6pm in the band hall.

Scoggins Symphony

The final rehearsal for our Scoggins Symphony is at 7:30am on Friday, May 18th.

6:30pm-Warm-Up in IHS Band Hall

7:00pm-Performance

7:15-Dismissed after performance


*For students participating in the IHS Marching Camp you will be able to leave early to change and eat(bring food). Make sure to communicate with the IHS directors prior to the start of the practice.

Mark Your Calendars!

The Scoggins Band Camp will be July 30-Aug.1 from 5-8:30(time subject to change) concluding with a performance at the Future Flyers event on Thursday, Aug.2. We expect to see all Band Members at this event as we prepare for the upcoming year and our Future Flyers Performance! If you have questions, or a conflict please let Mr. Davis know so we can plan accordingly.

Summer Band Camps

As summer is rapidly approaching we can not recommend highly enough your young student musician continue to play over the summer by attending a Band Camp. We have compiled a list of local and out of town camps for you to look into.


If you would like for your student to know a familiar face at band camp Mr. Davis will be teaching this year at the West Texas A&M Band Camp in Canyon, Texas. This is a 2 week camp and is a GREAT time. Mrs. Bulloch who has been visiting us monthly is also on staff at this camp. If you would like to talk to Mr. Davis about any specifics in regards to WT Band Camp please reach out. We would love to have as many Scoggins students as possible there!
