Music Program

Dear Parents,

We are very excited to show off the hard work your students have been doing in music class this year with a performance! The second grade concert will begin promptly at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 18th in the CRES gymnasium. Students should report to their homeroom teacher’s Classrooms at 6:45 PM. The performance will last about 20-30 minutes. Students should wear semi-formal attire they can move freely in such as polos, dress shirts, slacks, and dresses or long skirts for the girls. Any shoes are fine. If you have any questions, please e-mail me atshussain@hse.k12.in.us or call (317) 594-4170 and ask to be connected the music teacher.

Winter Party

Dear Parents,
Just a quick note to say THANK YOU! Thank you for embracing the change in this year's party! We appreciate the positive feedback already. And we GREATLY appreciate our first donation!

A huge SHOUT OUT to Zach's mom for the tissue, toothbrushes, toothpaste and wet wipes! Amazing! Thank you!

Big shout out to Emmaline and Huston's Families for granola bars!

If you are interested in helping us get ready for our Grab Bags, there is now a basket in the classroom labeled and ready to receive donations. Please do not feel obligated to take on an entire "category". We can keep track of what we have to ensure we will have at least 27 of everything by the time the party rolls around.

Following is what we still need:
27 Boxes of Band-Aids
27 Pairs of Socks (often in packages of 3 or 6 at dollar stores)
27 Combs (often in packages of 3 to 5 at dollar stores)
27 Bottles of Water (1 case is great)
27 Individual goldfish bags
27 Packages of Gum
27 Individually wrapped packages of crackers
27 Small bottles of pain reliever

Again, thank you for your excitement! Please let us know if you have any questions.

Behavior Plan

With the cold weather rolling in and breaks from school coming up, Inhave decided to add a new behavior plan into our routine!

I have explained the plan to students this past week and we will start on Monday! They will color in a word after completing tasks. The goal is to color all the way to the !. Please look to see if they have had any reminders during the day or notes. It will be in their GO folder each night!

This week we will learn how to add with regrouping.

Math Homework: November Math homework can be turned in when it is ALL complete :)

Attached you will find Math Practice sheets. Please complete 1 per week during the month of November. Each Monday, students will bring in their packet with a signature. I will check to make sure the page is complete. I will grade the packet when they are all finished on the 24th of November. There is a BONUS Page as well! Please have your student complete the work and verbally explain how they came to their answer. They are to do the writing and the thinking.

Moby Max:

Moby Max is a website that is used for MANY different reasons. The reason that we as educators like it is for Math. I like how it gives the students math at their level. It also self motivates by allowing game time when tasks are completed. Everyone is set up but not everyone has been on yet!
