Cardinal Auction Night Success!

Big picture

Cardinal Auction Night on Friday, May 13, was an enormous success! We had a great Cardinal Community turn-out, and we SOARed past our original goal of $15,000 all the way to $22,000! A huge thank you to all the businesses and individuals who generously donated items for auction. Because we hit our goal, our Cardinals get to celebrate with a PAJAMA DAY!

Thank you to our Cardinal-level sponsor, Treasury Department Federal Credit Union; our Gold-level sponsors, Jeanne Phil Meg Team at Compass Real Estate, Fulcrum Properties Group, National Capital Bank, Jenn Smira Team at Compass Real Estate; our Bronze-level sponsor, DC Access; and our drink sponsor Atlas Brew Works.

Finally, thank you to our community of bidders! With your support, the J.O. Wilson PTA is helping our scholars, teachers, and families SOAR!

Sincerely,

J.O. Wilson PTA Board

Oh What A Night!

The Cardinal Drama Players along with The JOW Drama Committee would again like to thank all of our families and supporters for helping to make our spring musical of Aladdin a HUGE success! We can't say thank you enough for your patience, your time, and your sacrifices to make this dream become a reality for our school community. This is only the beginning as we prepare to grow the performing arts here at J.O. Wilson by leaps and bounds. It's only up from here. Thank you again!

Wanna Help JOW Pre-Schoolers Build An Ecobrick Bench?

A few preschool classrooms have been working together to reuse plastic waste in a very cool and innovative way! Over the last few months, we have been stuffing tennis ball cans with flimsy plastic. Now that we have a whole bunch, we are going to make a temporary installation of an eco brick bench on the Sherwood Rec Center Tennis Court. (We are working with DCPR on this.) Attached is the invite, but it's also linked here. We would welcome anyone who is interested to come and help us build it!

Used Uniform Collection

Do you have uniforms that your kids have outgrown cluttering your closets? The PTA invites you to participate in the Uniform Donation and Swap program. Please kindly donate gently used J.O. Wilson uniforms in the large boxes at the school entrance. The PTA will host our annual Summer Playdate and Uniform Swap late this summer (stay tuned for the date). Please only donate uniform-compliant items. Please launder your items, and do not donate items with stains or tears. All proceeds will go to the PTA.
