Amon Carter Museum Community Artist
Congratulations to Green B. Trimble Technical High School Art teacher Anna Joy Pham, who will serve as a 2024 Carter Community Artist! The Amon Carter Museum of American Art selects four local artists to assist with creating, planning, and leading experiences at the Museum and in the community each year. Throughout the year, the artists will work with the museum’s education staff on projects and events for the community. We are grateful for our VPA teachers, like Anna Joy Pham, for their dedication and willingness to take on additional leadership roles in arts education.
Young Men's Leadership Academy Partnering w/ Artist Willie Cole
THE GIANT WATER BOTTLE SCULPTURE PROJECT with Artist Willie Cole. TCEF (Tarrant County Education Foundation) invited artist Willie Cole to share his compelling concept of "Artcycling" with FWISD. Students from different schools and cultures work as one community to collect 20,000 water bottles to create a 30-ft. sculpture of a giant man. This STEM-focused “Artcycling” project lessens the impact of plastics on our environment, empowers creativity, inspires higher learning, and explores scholarship opportunities.
