Library Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to help in the school library for one hour a week. You can volunteer during your child's library time. (Class schedule posted online with volunteer sign-up so you can check your child's library time). As the class comes in, you will help check in and shelve books and then help kids find new books and check out. That's it. Pretty simple, but it's a critical role because we anticipate nearly 1,000 books moving through the library each week.
We will do some basic training the next two weeks and shifts begin the first week of October. We need 40 volunteers each week, so please consider serving in this way!
Learn more and sign-up on our PTO website. Questions? Please contact Amy Robinson.
Donuts with Grownups
Students are invited to bring a favorite grownup to school on Wednesday, October 2 to enjoy donuts, coffee and conversation before school. Breakfast will be served from 7-7:30 am in the school cafeteria. This is an opportunity to show our students how much we value our time with them.
Please RSVP by 9/27.
We will hold a Donuts with Grownups breakfast on the first Wednesday of every month.

Watch D.O.G.S.
Herff Elementary School is thrilled to announce the launch of our Watch D.O.G.S. program sponsored by Herff PTO!
Who are Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students)?
Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. ® school. During the day, Watch D.O.G.S. may read and work with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. On the day of their participation, Watch D.O.G.S. are given a brief review of their involvement and they wear an official WATCH D.O.G.S. ® t-shirt with a disposable ‘Dog Tag’ identifying them as Watch D.O.G.S.
Join us to learn more of how you can be involved at Herff at our "Dads and Kids Pizza Night" on Wednesday, September 25th at 6:00 p.m. in the HES cafeteria.
Please RSVP Here.
