PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Hello and Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and restful break. While old man winter is settling in, we here at the pond are excited for what the new year will bring. Our after school programs will continue with topics such as Saving Barnegat Bay and Turtle Exploration. We have an exciting Mad Science assembly planned and keep a lookout for information on a science related after school program that will be starting in February. Grades 3 - 6 will be participating in the annual spelling bee at the end of this month. Our school wide winner will go on to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
We are looking forward to a wonderful 2018

Winter Book Fair!
This book fair theme is Paws for Reading!!
Teacher preview Thursday 1/25 from 2:45-3:15. Stop by and fill up your wish list bin! I will be promoting this wish lists to families!
Fair will run from 1/26-2/2, with family night being Wednesday 1/31! We will be having a special event that night with a possible appearance from Clifford the Big Red Dog!!!
We will again feature our pencil pull for All For Books! All for Books is a Scholastic program where all money collected goes right back into our school library!! Scholastic will then match our donation and donate books to another needy school in the United States!! Students can donate $.50, pull a pencil, and win a prize! All money collected through All For Books is used to purchase books from the fair for our library!
The reward for having 3 book fairs a year are Scholastic dollars. Last year we collected our points and were able to purchase electric pencil sharpeners for 27 teachers that signed up for one! We also purchased a carpet for a Kindergarten class, and many 6 book sets to use for guided reading in the classrooms! Many more book sets are currently on order for our younger grade levels to utilize!
We look forward to helping support our school community with up to date resources and supplies as much as we can!
Thank you for you support! See you at the fair!
1,000,000 Tab Challenge
Help Us Reach Our Goal!
Frog Pond School is saving aluminum tabs from cans in order to benefit the work of the Ronald McDonald House. The mission of RMHC is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families and their vision is to create a world where all children have access to medical care, and their families are supported and actively involved in their children's care.
Please support our project by sending in tabs from any aluminum cans. You can find these tabs on beverage cans, pet food cans, soup cans, etc. Thank you so much for any tabs you are able to send in to school.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Mandra
CHECK FOR OUR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS!
