Getting to Know the NYSESLAT

In this workshop, participants will discuss the four subtests, the demands of the test, and how to best prepare students for the NYSESLAT without teaching to the test. Discussion will include activities to increase student agency in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking and using NYSESLAT data to inform instruction.

Four sub-tests and rules for scoring and administering can make planning and scheduling for the NYSESLAT challenging. Join us for an informal general information session and space to ask NYSESLAT questions as you plan for the administration of this test. Participants will have an opportunity to hear from each other in how they navigate NYSESLAT season. Open to teachers, administrators, and testing coordinators.

New to NYSESLAT Training

This training is intended for certified educators or administrators who are new to administering the NYSESLAT. Participants will learn how to prepare for testing and administer all four components of the test and practice scoring the speaking portion. Optional writing scoring materials will be available for participants to interact with on their own.
OR
Asynchronous NYSESLAT Refresher
Available Beginning March 25th
Available to any teachers or administrators who have previously been trained in NYSESLAT training. This asynchronous training will not offer CTLE credit. Educators can interact with the materials on their own to refresh their knowledge of administering the test.
