May is Wellness Month at Sigler Elementary

Week 1: Hydration

Drinking enough water to stay properly hydrated is something we often forget to do. Staying hydrated can aid in digestion and kidney function, prevent headaches and fatigue, increase brain function and heart health and even protect our joints and cartilage.

Week 1 Goal: Every staff member and student will drink "at least one liter" of water while at school.

Students are encouraged to bring water bottles from home. Teachers will fill out a report at the end of each day and place it in Nurse Stacey's box on Friday, May 6th.

Parent Engagement Survey

Please take a moment to complete the below Parent Engagement Survey. The information we collect will help us evaluate the relationship between parents and our school. We are always looking for ways to improve the home-school connection.

There are many ways in which parents may be involved in the education of their child. Extensive research has shown that activities such as reading and communicating with the child and setting expectations have the largest effect on student achievement. Other forms of parental involvement, such as attendance and participation in school functions, also contribute positively to achievement in school.

This Parental Engagement Survey will help us understand some of the ways in which parents are engaged in the education of their child. This information will guide us in providing support to the parents in our community.

With the 2015-2016 school year in mind, please take a moment to answer this brief survey. Thank you for your participation.
