Muraski Memo
End of the Week - October 19th
Reminder: There will be an EARLY RELEASE DAY on October 26th.
PBIS Monthly Rewards at Muraski
As you probably heard at conferences, we are running a school-wide behavior program this year at Muraski. We are using the DOJO system app to document and share with parents and students throughout the school day. The program includes all areas of the building including, PE, Art, Music, Lunch, and Recess.
At the end of each month, we will be looking at the progress of each individual student, regarding their behavior. Students who have 85% of their Dojo Green will be rewarded with the monthly reward. The score of 85% must be met to be invited to the Trophy Assembly and then to the planned monthly reward. This month's reward will be on October 26th.
Unfortunately, we may have students who do not meet the benchmark of 85%. If a student falls below the expectation of 85% then the student will spend the reward time working in the classroom with a teacher. You will be able to monitor your own child's behavior progress throughout the month, as teachers notify you through the Dojo email system, when things are going well and not so well in the classroom.
We are asking that our TEAM from home, help us to encourage your child to be aware of his/her behavior and work to meet the expectation of making good choices, 85% of the time each month. You and your child can monitor this on the DOJO app/program, to see where improvement needs to be made at any time.
We are looking forward to inviting everyone to the Trophy Assembly, and hope that your child will get that invitation! Last month we had 100% of our TEAM participate.
Halloween Party and Parade
Please follow the guidelines. We have had to return candy/treats/snacks to many families because the items were made on a nut line and "may" contain nuts. It is amazing as to how many things are made in a nut factory and may contain nuts. Please read the labels carefully before you purchase. The ingredients must be listed on the packaging for us to share in the classrooms. All food must be free from ALL NUTS and PEANUTS.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE YOUR CHILD'S EMERGENCY MEDICAL FORM ON LINE
It has come to my attention that we still have 1/3 of our parents/families who have not updated the contact information needed for your child. I am concerned, that if we have an emergency, we will not be able to contact anyone from our families. I know this process is new, but it is needed for many reasons.
Please take the time to fill out the necessary information and/or update your child's form on the Powerschool site. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Surak, our school secretary.
Kindness Crew at Work! Making Muraski a Better Place!
Our Kindness Crew spent time with Ms. Candow working on creating acronyms for areas of our school, using positive words. They are very creative! We're working on teaching our students each one.
