Cure of a Man Born Blind
Jn 9: 1-41
-John 9: 2-3
His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither he nor his parents sinned; it is so that the works of God might be made visible through him."
-John 9: 6-7
He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva, and smeared the clay on his eyes,
and said to him, “Go wash* in the Pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed, and came back able to see
-John 9: 39
Then Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, so that those who do not see might see, and those who do see might become blind.”
THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS MIRACLE
BACKGROUND OF THE BLIND MAN
Jesus said, “it is so that the works of God might be made visible through him." Jesus spat on the ground and made clay and smeared the clay on the man's eyes and told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam and then he would see. Jesus cured the man so he could physically see since he could already spiritually see.
PERSONAL ACCOUNTS OF EYEWITNESSES
PERSONALITIES FROM THE PEOPLE AND THEIR REACTIONS TO JESUS
The people were hostile and didn’t believe that Jesus cured him because he did not keep the Sabbath. They asked how a sinful man could do such signs.
