REACH Counseling for 4K students
This letter went home with all 4K children before Spring Break. Here is the information again:
Our school is in partnership with you regarding your child’s personal safety. In early April, a Protective Behaviors Program will be presented in your child’s class which includes information on child sexual abuse. This information will be presented by a Prevention Educator from Reach Counseling Services, along with me, in their classroom guidance lesson. Children will learn to say “no” to confusing or uncomfortable touches, learn rules for keeping their bodies safe, and learn that they are never at fault in cases of abuse. Children will also be encouraged to identify adults they can trust when they need help or protection. The lesson is provided in a manner that is understandable for our 4K students.
Parents are invited and encouraged to share in their child’s experience, either through attending the program or discussing the topic at home. Parents are also encouraged to call for adult education on how to keep your children safe. Reach Counseling Services is very willing to educate parents, businesses, and any other professionals. You can contact Reach Counseling Services at 722-8150.
If you would like to attend the protective behaviors program presented by Reach Counseling Services, please see the schedule below for your child’s class. If you do choose to attend, please let myself or your child’s teacher know ahead of time.
