6TH GRADE PARENTS: Please provide an updated immunization record for your student at the beginning of the spring semester in January. If your child has not had the required TDAP booster, 2nd varicella, and meningitis vaccines, they must receive them and provide a copy to the clinic by May 1, 2016. Science News
Science is wrapping up our week working on the Doctor Doctor CAP, with the final project due Tuesday Dec 1st. We will then have a “Health Fair” where the students will get to learn about the various illnesses that affect the respiratory, circulatory, and digestive systems. Once we conclude our projects we will begin our Ocean Ecosystems Unit.
Science Fair: Last week Science Fair permission slips were sent home for all of those interested. The final projects are due Tuesday Jan 12th. All students who would like to be considered for Honors Science, are expected to participate.
Math 6/ Honors 6 News
Don't forget to study the review for the upcoming exam. Please check the schedule to see when your students Math 6/ Honors 6 exam is scheduled.
ELA News
All descriptive language CAPs should have been turned in today.
Students will be taking their Reading, Math, and Science MAP tests next week. Please encourage your child to do their best on each tests as they are a measure of their academic progress and can determine class placement for 7th grade.
History
PACE
Students will present the contributions of their ancient civilization during exam week. Current event assignment due Monday, December 14th.
Intermediate ESL English and Reading
ESL Intermediates are finishing up natural forces with a story on earthquakes. They began working on their final exam essays and will have their final exam on Tuesday, December 15. Students should be studying over their vocabulary cards to prepare for the exam. Once they have completed their exam, we will focus on MAP testing.

World Wear Project -
Be a part of diverting thousands of pounds of shoes and clothing from local landfills by filling our shoes and clothing donation bin with your gently used shoes, clothing, purses, belts, wallets, hats, caps, backpacks, hard toys, stuffed animals, and pots and pans.
Frankford has partnered with the World Wear Project. For every pound collected, our PTA receives $0.15. The benefit to you? Neater closets, drawers, toy boxes, and kitchens, and the knowledge that less textile waste will end up in our local landfills. Our World Wear Project donation box is located in the parking lot by the gym.
