A Message from Mrs. Belcher:
Leopard Families,
This Tuesday is Veteran's Day. Please join us in honoring those who have served. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Happy Military Family Month to all of our families who include a military service man/woman. We are thankful for you! Please read below on how to submit a picture so we can celebrate you!
Mark your calendars! On Wednesday, November 11, Conroe ISD will honor Veterans with a virtual program on the District's YouTube channel. This will begin at 8:00 a.m., more details coming soon!
As the third grading period approaches, we know that some families may be considering changing instructional platforms. If you would like to move your child from remote instruction to face to face instruction or vice versa, please contact me at kbelcher@conroeisd.net no later than Tuesday, December 1st. Please include in the email your child's name, teacher's name, and your instructional platform preference for the second grading period. We will begin the needed preparations to ensure your child is ready to begin the third grading period in the instructional platform you prefer on the start date of the third grading period, January 6th. If you do not need to make an instructional platform change, no action is needed.
Have a wonderful week,
Kristen Belcher, Principal
Lamar Elementary

Positivity Project is a school wide 24-character program to empower our students to build positive relationships and become their best selves. This program allows children to become aware that every one of them has all 24-character strengths and provides the foundation for genuine self-confidence grounded in self-awareness. At the same time, it helps children better understand why everyone is different and how to appreciate those differences.

Early Release
If you need to pick up your child before regular dismissal we ask that you pick them up BEFORE 2:30 PM. At this time, we are beginning the dismissal process at 2:45 PM. We want to make sure you have picked up your child and are able to leave the parking lot without getting placed in car-line.
GT Nominations:
Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January for both remote and in-person platforms, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Referrals will be accepted through December 18. You may request a referral form from the front office or the Assistant Principal. You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage.
