This Week's News
We are finishing up our measurement unit with time. We decided to spend a little more time on area and perimeter before break, and are ready to tackle time. Terms like quarter of and quarter after will be used, as well as focusing on elapsed time. Those analog clocks can be a little tricky!
This week we will also finish our research on extreme weather. Students have selected their topic and have developed the questions that they are researching. We are also excited to have WHAG meteorologist Stephanie Sine coming to talk to our class about weather and meteorology as a career option!
I am excited to have students get started in their sketchbooks. We began with a draft of a mind map that will eventually lead into our exhibition work before break. Now we are ready to finalize our maps and put them into our sketchbook. We will be using these sketchbooks to develop creative notetaking and different ways to show our thinking. I am excited to see them develop through the year!
THANK YOU!
Thank you very much Lynne Lindsey and Melissa Gibson for helping us with our Gingerbread houses. They were all very creative and great fun to watch being made. I also want to thank everyone who sent in candies and treats for this project. It was a great success and we couldn't have done it without all your help!
