Navigation Notes

Greetings Westside Families! We hope you and your family have found time to unwind these first two weeks of summer. I sure do miss their smiles and voices in our building, and can't wait to see them again in August!

If you haven't already checked your child's backpack for their final report card, please be sure to do so. In the envelope are flyers regarding registration for the upcoming school year along with the supply lists for you early shoppers. See below how you can obtain a FAST PASS for our Registration Day on July 27th. **If your child was absent and did not receive their final report card, please stop by our office**

During these next two weeks, Westside continues to be an Open Food Site for breakfast and lunch. Any child under the age of 18 can come for a FREE grab-and-go breakfast at 7:45am and/or lunch at 11:00am. Students must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Our office continues to be open Monday-Friday from 7:30-3:00p each week (except for July 4th). Please come on in if we can support you in any way.

Stop by our office any time Monday-Friday between 7:30a-3:00p before June 30th to finalize registration and receive a FAST PASS for Registration Day in July! Please bring with you a valid Florida's Driver's License, and proof of residency such as a utility bill. Want To Become a Westside Volunteer?

If you are interested in being a registered volunteer next school year, please contact our District Security Office in Viera at (321) 633-1000. Currently, it is FREE to have your fingerprinting and background checks completed, so don't delay!

Our BPS safety protocols require any adult on campus during school hours must be a registered volunteer. This includes helping in our classrooms, working with students, participating in our PTO and assisting with special events. We are looking to expand our volunteer program next year and will need as many wonderful and willing adults as possible to support the students and school.

Become A Partner in Education

We are recruiting local businesses and organizations to become Partners In Education! If you own or work for a local business, have a connection with a company, or sponsor a local organization and are interested in supporting our students' learning or school campus, please reach our to Ms. Jennifer Johnston at Johnston.Jennifer@brevardschools.org

Westside is looking to grow our community outreach for next year and hope you will be part of this wonderful expansion. Our vision is to enhance student achievement and real-world knowledge through our business partnerships. This could include reading with students, participating in a career presentation, conducting a hands-on learning lesson, starring in a video interview about your business and steps you took to achieve it, and much more.

We hope you will join us in taking Westside to the next level in 2022-2023!

Summer STEAM Session #1

Additionally, they infused their creative art skills and utilized teamwork and physical movement to solidify their learning. The week wrapped up with visits from families to see all the amazing work the students had accomplished, and students took home even more resources to build scientific knowledge.
