A Message From Mrs. Heineck

Recently, teachers and students have been greeted with positive messages like “Throw Kindness Like Confetti.” Souderton is a school district where character counts. Therefore, Franconia must equip its students and staff with strategies to fulfill this message and build character. Building kind citizens may not be in our schools’ curriculum, but it is an important goal of both educators and parents. Recent studies have found that kind people are not only happier, they are healthier! Kindness is like a muscle. For some it may be naturally stronger, but every person can build that muscle with practice. Kindness will grow if we infuse it into all that we do. For example, this month, our focus is on building a force field of kindness. Each classroom has read the mentor text, The Kindness Quilt written by Nancy Wallace and participated in morning discussions on what it means to be kind. Let’s work as a team to grow kind students.
