Farragut Weekly Updates - 9/30/17

From the desk of Principal Ngo

Dear Farragut Foxes,

Fall is in the air! October is one of the most exciting times of the year. It is also the time of year where schools take a look at safety and school climate. With so many Fall events and opportunities to come together as a community, take this time to think about how your family is staying safe. What routines and daily reminders keep your kids safe? What safety plans do you have at home in case of an emergency? Taking the time to be proactive and having a plan in place keeps everyone safe.

At Farragut, our staff is reviewing our own emergency preparedness practices and protocols, creating committees to review school climate, and monitoring the processes that keep our school community safe. From check-in and check-out procedures, volunteer guidelines, and school-wide rules to earthquake drills, safety committees, and first aide training, we take safety very seriously at Farragut!

Take this month to review what helps keep your family safe. Together as a community, these discussions help us plan, prepare, and stay proactive in case of emergency!

Have a wonderful week!

Your proud principal,

Rebecca Ngo

HAUNTED HOUSE HELPERS NEEDED

It’s the most won-der-ful time of the year – HALLOWEEN! Our ghoulish Halloween elves are hard at work planning this year’s Haunted House for the Fall Festival and they could use your help! Some of the items in-need will make this year’s Haunted House the scariest ever!

* Volunteers will be needed on:
- Saturday (10/14) and/or Sunday (10/15) to help at the Ghoul Workshop found locally at a parent’s home. Most of the pre-construction will occur on those two days.
- Friday (10/20) (after school) and Saturday (10/21) (morning before the Festival) to get everything set-up and to put the final touches on the creepiness.

* Donations of quality Halloween decorations. Items like strands of Halloween-colored lights, black lights, spider webs, and other scary accoutrements would be very much appreciated. The elves will place a bin in the school office in which you can leave your donations. A very special request for Doll Parts and a trellis (used). Trust our elves, they’ve got BIG ideas for these items

If you have any questions or are able to help, please contact Maya “the Monster” Grafmuller (maya.grafmuller@gmail.com) or Kristen “the Cadaver” Gordon (kmliming@yahoo.com).
