Information Regarding Unscheduled Parent Visits

At Union Chapel, we value communication between home and school. We always want to be able to respond to questions or concerns as quickly and thoroughly as possible. Most of the teachers’ day is spent with children, and just dropping by interrupts instruction and doesn’t allow the teacher to give parents her or his complete attention. That is why we want to make sure all parents are aware of the following: Click here to read more.

New Addition to All Doors

You may have noticed numbers being added to the exterior doors around the building. The doors are being numbered to assist emergency personnel in the event of an actual emergency.

New Paint Greatly Appreciated

Here are some Kindergarteners making good use of some of the recently repainted lines on the playground.

New Math Books in the Media Center

We have some exciting news in the library. Click here for the full story.

November Students of the Month

Each month, one student from each classroom is chosen by the teacher to receive the honor as Student of the Month. Students are selected based on consistent academic or behavioral excellence or improvement. Each student receives a certificate, as well as, a card from his or her teacher explaining why she or he was chosen that month. Congratulations to all our November Students of the Month! Click here for a larger picture of the Students of the Month along with their names.

Rockin' Recess Report

Although the sun may be shining, it can be very, very cold outside. Please remind your students to bring their coats, mittens, and hats to school so they have them available to wear at recess. Normally, weather permitting, we are outside until the temperature and/or wind-chill drops below 25 degrees. We need everyone to bundle up! Thank you!

New Assessments in the spring of 2015

Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teachers recently joined with teachers from two other elementary schools for additional training in the alignment among our PHSD Reporting Topics; Missouri Standards; new Acuity assessments; and the upcoming Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC), which will be the new “MAP.” Click here to read more.
