Mask Maker Makes Our Day!
Shirley Moser is a long time Elida resident and a dedicated community supporter. She went from quilting to making masks when she found out there was a need. Shirley has made over 1,000 masks for the Elida community and donated some to the Elida Elementary. We are so thankful for her donation. The masks were used for those students who did not have one. Thank you, Shirley!

Cafeteria "Touchless" Scanners -Faster/Cleaner
Each student received a scan card to use, or they can download their personal digital ID from PaySchool to simply scan their phone. The students are encouraged to take a photo of their card and use it on their phone. By using the scanner, going through the cafeteria line check-out process is now totally "touchless."
Food Services Director Sara Newland says that using this new system is not only quicker and cleaner, but that student identification is verified in the sytem keeping accounts totally private.

Donation in Honor of Coach Gary Evans
Several members of the 1966-69 Defiance College football teams recently made a stop at Elida High School. In memory of Gary Evans a 1969 Defiance grad and longtime Elida coach, a donation was made to the Elida Athletic Department to be used for football and track expenses. Coach Evans was member of the 1966 and 1969 undefeated teams.
Gary and many of his teammates have gotten together on the farm of Paul Yon in Bowling Green each year for over 40 years. They would spend time golfing, reminiscing along with some grilling. These teammates decided they wanted to do something in Gary’s honor. Coach Evans had coached track for over 40 years at Elida High School including up to the time of his unfortunate death.
Elida is sincerely grateful for the time and effort Gary gave our athletes especially in the area of his true love, the pole vault. We are also thankful for the generosity of his teammates who obviously loved him very much.
Pictured are Coach Evans' teammates, Elida athletes, Athletic Director and Rich Evans, Gary’s brother.
