Progress Reports
Progress Reports have come out this week. If you want to see your child's progress report, go to Google Classroom and find your student's name.
Notes on Virtual Learning (Google Classroom)
- Be aware that the material we are covering is not just review like it was in the Spring. Material being taught is 5th grade content. Please attend live instruction.
- Please note that you can see missing assignments in the "view your work" section at the top of the classwork page in Google Classroom.
- Please encourage your child to keep their cameras on during the live part of the Zoom lesson. This allows teachers to see who is participating and who needs assistance.
- Make sure students are returning to their regular education courses at 9:55 am after specials.
Week 05 Science Information
- We are working on weather and climate in our science class for this quarter.
- Please encourage your child to watch the weather portion of the news or review the weather on a weather app such as the weather channel or weather underground.
- We are tracking hurricanes as they occur as well and they can get information on current storms at the National Hurricane Center, nhc.noaa.gov
- Students are completing many of their materials in google classroom in their notebooks. Please check your child’s progress by looking at their notebooks to see that they are recording their weather observations, hurricane tracking, and Big Idea responses in their notebooks, in addition to making flashcards for their weekly vocabulary lists.
- You can also check to see if they have completed their assignments to turn in within google classroom.
Week 05 ELA Information
- Remind for parents to check your students' reading and writing journals daily. This will help them greatly keep up with what is going on in class.
- Next week we will be covering how to identify the theme of a text.
- If your student has any missing assignments, turning the assignment in is very important for the student's grade.
- Participation during synchronous instruction is essential to student success
Week 05 Math Information
- We will be covering Lesson 5 Multiplying Whole Numbers this week.
- Students are required to have a math notebook and pencil for synchronous instruction
- Please encourage students to keep their cameras on during live instruction.
- Reminder to check your child's notebook to see that they are caught up on lesson notes and instruction
