Locker Clean Out

Please remind your student that all items from their locker must be removed by the last day of school. Students will not have the same locker next year. Items that are left in lockers will be disposed of and students will be charged a clean out fee if our custodial staff has to remove any items from the locker.

Lost & Found

Our Lost and Found has LOTS of items that are ready to be claimed! From sweatshirts to coats, and water bottles to lunch boxes, we have a variety of things looking for their home. Please make sure your student checks the Lost and Found (located near the gym) before the end of the year to see if any of their items are there. Parents are welcome to look at the lost and found before or after school. Any items leftover after the school year ends will be disposed of.

Important End of Year Chromebook Information

In-person and virtual students in grades 6th-8th will hold onto their Chromebook device, charger, and case during summer break unless they meet one of the following criteria below:

  1. The student is in need of a Chromebook repair
    Possible repairs include:

    • Cracked Screen

    • Display (wavy lines, black/white screen)

    • Keyboard (missing keys, not responding)

    • Trackpad (not functioning, broken)

    • Camera (not working/responding)

    • Microphone (not working/responding)

    • Chromebook Battery Issue

    • Chromebook Charger Issue

    • Missing/loose screws on the bottom of the device

  2. The student is leaving the district at the end of the school year

  3. The student currently is using a Forest Park loaner Chromebook device

    • These students will be notified to return their Chromebook device to the Tech Depot via email

    • All loaners are due 6/9

In-person students that need to return their device can do so at the Forest Park Tech Depot throughout the last week of school during normal school hours. If needed, virtual students can return to the Forest Park office anytime during the last week of school.

Students holding onto their Chromebook over the summer are asked to store their device in a secure location away from extreme heat/cold and liquids. It is also recommended to keep the Chromebook device off the floor where it can be stepped on. Please note that no tech support will be available during the summer break and charges will be issued for any missing/damaged items at the beginning of next school year.

8th Grade End Of Year Events

We are excited to celebrate the promotion of our 8th grade students to high school with a ceremony and dance in June! The ceremony will take place on Thursday June 9th with the 8th grade dance to follow. 8th grade families would have received an email on Friday April 22nd with additional details about these events. 8th Grade Graduation Signs

The 8th grade graduation signs have sold out! If you ordered one you will receive an email this week with information about pick up times. Please contact Jessica Kaye ( if you have any questions.

8th Graders: 2022-2023 FHS Course List/Future Scheduling Information

All families of students currently in grades 8-11 should have received their list of scheduled classes for the 2022-23 school year via email toward the end of last week. As indicated in the letter accompanying the course list, changes should be minimal due to thoughtful course selections back in winter; however, if there is a change that needs to be requested, students must submit the completed bright pink course change request form (available in Student Services), due back to Student Services by 3 p.m. on Fri., June 3. Any change is based on space availability, academic/career plans, and schedule options and cannot be guaranteed, but FHS counselors will try their best to accommodate requests and to let students know the outcome via school email by summer break. Change requests will NOT be accepted after June 3, including during the summer or at the start of school in fall. Students do not need an appointment to request a change, as they just need to submit the form, and changes will not be made without the completed form.

We anticipate that detailed student schedules, including rooms, hours, teachers, etc. will be available to access on PowerSchool in mid- to late-August once again this year.

Summer Homework for Honors and AP Courses

This week, students in grades 8-11 should check the link in the email accompanying their list of future scheduled courses for information on any summer homework for AP or honors courses. The summer homework document is also linked on the FHS School Counselors website, so it can be accessed online at any time.

FPS Transportation Survey

This past Wednesday, all families were sent an FPS Transportation Survey message. Please take the time to complete this survey once per child that was enrolled during this 2021-22 school year. This survey gives us data on who utilized our district transportation for state reports and the same survey also helps to communicate your bus riding needs for next year. Please click here to complete the survey before Friday, June 3rd at 11:59pm.


  • If your student is currently a senior, please select Graduate and Does Not Require Bussing for the 22-23 school year

  • If your student will be driven to and from school, please DO NOT select transportation needed as a backup plan. Transportation can be added at any time during the school year by using this Bus Route Change or Addition Form

Please Return Your Library Books!

All elementary library books are due back on May 31st (but if you are reading this today, please return them as soon as possible tomorrow!). Middle school and High school books are due back June 3rd. Please look for any missing books in cars, under furniture, in your child’s classroom and return them to school. Families will receive a bill over summer for any library materials that are not returned. If items are found over the summer they can be returned to the ECC District Office and student accounts will be adjusted. If families would like to provide a replacement copy instead of paying for the item, the replacement copy may be sent to school in the fall. Thank you!

Check Out E-Books From Our School Library This Summer!

Wanting to read more this summer? Check out some eBooks from your school library - there are hundreds to choose from! We have many ebooks including readalongs, picture books, chapter books and non-fiction. Magazines and a collection of always available graphic novels were added recently. SORA also has a collection of Sweet Reads for summer that will be always available through August 17th. SORA can be accessed from any internet connected device.

Math & Literacy Parent Summer Resources

As we have shared the past few summers, Franklin Public Schools has compiled a list of resources to support students in the areas of math and literacy during the summer months.

Franklin Family Woods Run Sat, June 25th!

How FUN is this? Free Franklin Family Fun Run on Saturday, June 25th. 5K, 1 mile and family run to kickoff the morning, beginning at Kayla's Park at 9 am. Register today and your name will be placed into a drawing for free Milkmen tickets! All monetary donations will go to support the Franklin Educational Foundation.

Important Reminders From Our Food Service Department!

Student Accounts: The end of the year is upon us. All student lunch accounts need to be balanced or positive by the end of the school year. Please check your child's account and make a deposit if necessary. Just a reminder all accounts with a balance, both positive and negative, carry over to the new school year and to the next school if moving schools.

Lunch Lines: Due to a staffing shortage we are running only 2 lunch lines on most days. In an effort to move the students through the lunch lines as quickly as possible, students may now use either lunch line to get their lunch with or without their ID.

Covid-19 Updates

  • We continue to ask families to please be diligent in keeping your children home when they are experiencing symptoms or are sick. Please continue to report any symptoms or sickness through the online absence reporting form process.

8th Graders interested in Fall Girls Golf at FHS

If you are interested in coming out for the FHS Girls Golf team this fall, please email Head Coach Brandon Johnsen at Coach Johnsen will add you to the email list so you receive all information needed for the upcoming season! The FHS Girls Golf season starts Monday August 8th, 2022. The Girls Golf team is a wonderful way to improve your skills in the game of golf and also meet some wonderful teammates that you will have for the remainder of your high school career!

Student And Family Assistance Program Launched

As we communicated with all families last Monday, Franklin Public Schools has entered a partnership with Advocate Aurora Health Care to provide counseling options for students and families on a variety of topics. The well-being of our students and families is paramount in helping us to be a better community. The Student and Family Assistance Program (SFAP) is operating now and is available to all students and members of their households within our district AT NO COST and offers up to (4) free one-hour sessions with a licensed counselor per issue on a variety of topics related to mental health. Youth Football Registration Is Open Through May 31st

Registration is open for the next season of Franklin Sabers Youth Football. Please register for the grade level your child will be in for the 22-23 school year.


Our registration is now open for next school year for new families to the district and next year’s 4K. You can find all the necessary details on our website here. Please note that students already enrolled in our schools do not have to have a new registration completed. You may utilize the “Create Account” and “Forgot Password” buttons on the registration page to complete your registration or gain access if you have created an account in the past. Please help us share that registration is open with any new families to the area or those with younger children that would be entering 4K or 5K!

Absence Notification Procedures

Please remember to use our attendance form for ANY attendance related notification including students leaving early, arriving late or full day absences.

Like last year, we will be asking parents/guardians to use THIS FORM to report student absences. The attendance form is also located as a button on the main school webpage and under the “Parents Information” section.

This form will require you to enter your child’s six-digit student ID number and birthdate before you can report your child absent. Student specific medical information collected by the form will remain confidential and only be shared within the health and nursing services team.

Early Dismissals & Late Arrivals

If you come to pick up your student during the school day, we ask that you do not enter our building but instead pull up into the circle driveway outside of our main office. Your student will be watching for you and we will send them out to your car when they see that you have arrived. If you are waiting longer than a few minutes for your student, you may call our main office to check in (414-529-8250).

If you are dropping your student off late for any reason, you do not need to come into the school with your student. Please pull into our circle driveway outside of the main office where your student can enter and check in. We will give your student a pass to class and update their attendance at that time.

Please remember to use THIS FORM for ANY attendance related notification including students leaving early, arriving late or full day absences. Please do not send notes with your student to notify us of these changes.

Dropping something off for your student?

If you are dropping off a forgotten item for your student (lunch, Chromebook, etc.), please use our drop off cart located inside the main entrance near the office. To limit the amount of traffic in/out of our main office, we ask that you leave the item(s) on the cart and clearly label the item(s) with your student's first and last name. Post it notes and pens are provided on the cart.

In an effort to reduce the amount of interruptions to students and teachers in the classroom, most items will be delivered to students during their 3rd hour class unless the item is clearly needed right away (for example, the student's Chromebook). If an item is dropped off after 3rd hour, we will get the item to the student as soon as possible.
