Volleyball Takes 3 out of 4 from Gateway!
Our volleyball teams hosted Gateway this on Thursday. A great crowd cheered us to winning 3 of 4 matches from the Gators. Below you will find the results for our 8th grade teams:

Also contributing to our team is: Emily Wilson, Elle Voita, Gabby Williams, Kira Federoff, Reagan Phariss, Sabrina Vaughan, Ivonne Saavedra, and Dana Jensen.
8 Gold:
Our Gold team also beat Gateway in 2 sets with scores of 25-21 and 25-13.
Our leading servers were Addison Lockhart with 13 and Abbie Wood with 8 serves. Leading passers were Addison Lockhart with 20, Jada Malone with 15, Brooke Everett with 12, and Emma Clark with 12 passes. Finally, our leading hitters were Addison Lockhart with 4, Kendall Karg with 3, and Jada Malone with 3 hits. We also saw great plays by: Jaelyn Hergenreder, Mary Spiers, and Sana Felix.
The 7B Lady Vikings started their 2019 Volleyball Season with an outstanding effort that came up just a few points short in 3 sets. The girls won the first set of the match with outstanding serves and clutch passes vs the opposing Lady Gators of Gateway. Unfortunately, the combination of a little inconsistency from behind the service line in both the 2nd and 3rd sets and some hot serving from the opponents was just enough to keep victory just out of reach of the Lady Vikings. The girls were in the match till the very end, only losing each set by the minimum 2 pt margin required to win a set. Most importantly they played with great effort and set the tone for the night for how the rest of the evening’s games were going to be played. These young ladies have been working very hard and we’re very excited to watch them continue to improve over the next couple of months.
The 7A Lady Vikings started the 2019 Volleyball Season on the right foot last night with a resounding 2 set victory over the Gateway Gators. The Lady Vikings offense was paced from the outset by aggressive serving from the likes of Mikayla Vasquez, Amelia Robinson, Sydney Heibert, Cannon Yetley, and Melanie Sansom. The girls also played some great defense too! Lana Spedale, Maddie Kassell, Hannah Simmons, and Natalie Kercheville all making great plays never allowing the ball to hit the floor. Being the 1st game of the season there was a lot of learning going on, but the girls never let moments of confusion keep them from making a play on the ball. The young ladies played with great enthusiasm for each other celebrating each other's efforts throughout the night. I don’t think that Gateway was prepared for the onslaught of energy and emotion that the girls brought to the game last night. This is going to be a very fun group to coach and there’s a lot to look forward too in the weeks ahead.
